We want to invite you to an international youth meeting about youth work and our experience with it in Western European countries. On Sunday the 9th of May from 5 p.m. until about 6.45 p.m. (Dutch time, so UTC+2), we will meet online in Zoom with youth from other countries. Father Hildo Bos, from the parish of Saint Nicholas in Amsterdam, will give an introductory talk about his own encounters with youth work. After that we will discuss our own experiences in smaller groups and we will conclude the meeting with a quick look into the future.
We as the OJN see amongst our members that it is so important to have a network of peers that experience the same faith, but also the same cultural diffrences between modern western society and our Church life. The goal of this international meeting is therefore to share our experiences and advice with each other across borders. We are part of the same Church, we probably have the same mission (to unite Orthodox young people in our countries) and often face the same struggles as other active Orthodox youth.
The target audience for this talk is Orthodox young people from 16 till 30 years old, who are active in, and enthousiastic about, their youth groups from different countries.
Please let us know if you want to join using this link: https://forms.gle/tMrr7UBe8FhfErDj8 .The deadline for signing up is Wednesday the 5th of May, so we can anticipate on the number of people that are coming. When you are signed up we will send you the Zoom link in time before the meeting starts.
Attached to this mail you will find a flyer for the event, in case you want to send it to your friends who have to join us and share their experiences. The event will also be published on our facebook page and on our website.
We wish you a good Holy week and we very much look forward to seeing you in an international setting!
With love and in Christ,
The OJN board
